Before a payment partnership discussion, it helps to identify which arrangements are documented, which still need agreement and which remain unclear. PaymentDealBuilder provides a structured starting point for that preparation.
The tool brings eight topics into one negotiation brief:
- Funds flow & roles
- Settlement
- Reserves & holds
- Refunds & reversals
- Chargebacks & disputes
- Liability & claims
- Data & security
- Exit & continuity
Start with your perspective and whether the arrangement concerns collections, payouts or both. For each topic, choose the status that best reflects your current understanding: documented, still to agree, unclear or not applicable. You can also flag priorities.
A fictional example
A business is discussing a collections arrangement with a payment provider. Settlement is documented, but the business is unclear about reserves and has not agreed how outstanding disputes will be handled when the relationship ends.
The business can mark those positions in the tool and prioritise reserves and exit arrangements. The resulting brief brings together questions and documents to request before the next discussion. Depending on the arrangement, useful questions might include: when can funds be held, how are releases decided, and what happens to unresolved disputes after termination?
These are prompts for discussion. Their relevance depends on the actual arrangement, documents and applicable law. Marking a topic as documented records the user's understanding; it does not confirm that the terms are complete or appropriate.
Using the brief
Review the brief on screen or download it as a text file. You can optionally save up to five sets of selections in the same browser to revisit later. Take care with saved selections and downloaded briefs on shared devices.
The tool uses fixed choices and does not accept contract uploads. If you want to raise a question with the firm, select the topic titles you wish to include, preview the enquiry text, then open an email to review and send yourself. The tool does not send that email automatically.
PaymentDealBuilder is an educational preparation aid. It does not assess your documents or produce a completed agreement, legal opinion or approval to sign. A matter-specific review requires the relevant facts and documents.
